New Article Stating Smallville Must Not Surpass Stargate SG-1’s Record
Posted by Nessa • No Comments »

A new article on “CrunchGear.com” is stating that Smallville MUST not be allowed to break Stargate SG-1’s world record:

We MUST stop this. Somehow Smallville must be canceled before it surpasses Stargate SG-1 and becomes the longest running Sci-fi show in North America’s history.

Serinda Swan In “Tron Legacy”
Posted by Nessa • 2 Comments »

The new “Tron Legacy” trailer was released, and it looks awesome! Serinda Swan (Zatanna), plays Siren, a temptress inside the computer world, where she spilled to “Screen Rant” last year that there are actually lights sewn in her wardrobe.

If I’m not mistaken, there is a quick clip of Serinda in white at mark 1:36 in the trailer. Check it out and sound off your opinion in the comment section.

In Theaters December 17, 2010

Update: Smallville News Bytes – Tuesday, March 9th
Posted by Nessa • No Comments »

* Update: An article on Gateworld regarding Smallville’s season 10 renewal, and a couple of tweets from Smallville writer and producer, Al Septien:

1.  Gateworld has an article titled “Smallville will break Stargate SG-1’s world record”. Here’s a snippet:

Its crowning achievement in the award category, however, may be the Guinness World Record it holds. In 2007, SG-1 overtook The X-Files under the category of Longest Consecutive Running Sci-Fi TV Show.

Unfortunately for SG-1, records are made to be broken. In just over one year, The CW network series Smallville will do just that. The young Superman series has been handed the greenlight for production of a tenth season.

2.  Smallville producer and writer, Al Septien tweeted last night:

It’s almost 11:30 PST. After 14 hours of “Sacrifice” and “Salvation”, Turi and I are calling it a night. Manana!

Just in case you’re wondering, Septien is referring to episode’s 9.20 “Sacrifice” and 9.22 “Salvation”, the season finale!

3.  Al Septien also tweeted earlier today that he, along with Turi Meyer (Smallville writer, director & co-executive producer) and Callum Blue (Zod), will be included in the commentary for the episode, “Kandor” in the season nine DVD-set, due out sometime in August or September this year.

The Big Tease: Scoop On Martian Manhunter!
Posted by Nessa • 4 Comments »

Matt Mitovich with Fancast has some scoopage on my favorite Martian:

How psyched are you that ‘Smallville‘ got a Season 10?! – Floruru via Twitter
Very. I mean, that’s a whole extra year of sifting through “When will Clark fly?” questions. Yay, me!

Can you give us a hint about Martian Manhunter’s role in the ‘Smallville’ episode “Checkmate”? – Tombstone25
I do love talking about he who shares my monogram. I’ve learned that MM is more enmeshed in the Checkmate mystery than any of us may have suspected, and that makes Clark suspicious as heck. I’m also hearing – and this part gives me gooseflesh – that Martian Manhunter and Amanda Waller have a face-off that potentially won’t end well for the spaceman. Hopefully, the big guy’s got a trick or two up his purple sleeve…?

Latest From Kristin: Lois, Chloe & Maxwell Lord
Posted by Nessa • No Comments »

The latest Smallville scoopage from Kristin with E! Online:

James from Atlanta: Have you heard if we finally get Lois for all 22 episodes of Smallville season 10?
Details of Erica Durance’s contact for next season are still up in the air, but I have it on good authority that we will “probably” see Lois “more than usual” on Smallville next year.

Hamilton in Brentwood, Tenn.: Is this Chloe’s last season on Smallville?
All I can tell you is that there is no deal yet for Allison Mack to return to Smallville next year. That could change at any time, but nothing so far…

Ruth in Boise, Idaho: Is it true Gil Bellows is coming to Smallville? I loved him on Ally McBeal!
Yes, he is, and he is still evil (though not because of a brain tumor this time–sigh, remember those days?!). He’s playing Maxwell Lord for two episodes this season, per my sources. Hey, maybe he can go replace Rob Lowe on Brothers & Sisters and be Calista’s new squeeze?

HELLCATS (The CW) – Aly Michalka (“Phil of the Future”) and Gail O’Grady (“Desperate Housewives”) are the first to be cast in the presentation, a drama set in the world of competitive college cheerleading. The former will play Marty Berger (“wicked smart, an acerbic outsider”), a student at Memphis’ Lancer University who’s forced to try out for the Hellcats – the college’s competitive cheerleading team – after she loses her scholarship. O’Grady will play her mother Wanda who tends bar at a rathskeller type snack bar on campus that serves food and drinks. Kevin Murphy penned the hour, which comes from CBS Television Studios, Tom Welling Productions and Warner Bros. Television.

3. Check out an article on “Cinema Blend”, where the author talks about sci-fi shows showing a surprising level of success with the recent renewals of “Smallville”, as well as “Fringe”, “Supernatural” and “Vampire Diaries”. Here’s an snippet of that article:

The CW is so impressed with Smallville’s performance on Fridays, where it actually managed to grow its audience and hold onto them, that it’s been talking about changing the focus of the entire network.
