Smallville’s “Absolute Justice” Ratings From Friday February 5
Posted by Nessa • No Comments »

Last night’s Smallville event was AMAZING in every aspect! Props to Geoff Johns and the Smallville cast and crew for a well executed Smallville event! I was really hoping the ratings would be higher for AJ, especially since it was highly hyped and promoted.

Below are the ratings from last night’s episode, thanks to “TVbytheNumbers”.

It was Smallville’s best numbers of the season with viewers and adults 18-49, and its best Friday since the last Friday Night Smackdown! aired on the CW in September 2008.

Here is the half hour Smallville detail via Marc Berman:

8:00 p.m. – Viewers: 2.64 million (#5), A18-49: 1.1/ 4 (#4)
8:30 p.m. – Viewers: 2.56 million (#5), A18-49: 1.1/ 3 (#4t)
9:00 p.m. – Viewers: 2.86 million (#5), A18-49: 1.2/ 4 (#5)
9:30 p.m. – Viewers: 3.02 million (#5), A18-49: 13/ 4 (#5)

Via the CW:

“A 2-hr SMALLVILLE provided The CW with our best Friday night since Sept 2008 in all key categories, including adults 18-49 (1.2/4), men 18-49 (1.5/5), adults 18-34 (1.1/4), men 18-34 (1.3/5) and total viewers (2.8mil).

In terms of Smallville episodes, this is the highest rated Smallville of the season in total viewers, adults 18-49 (tie) and men 18-49.

Competitively, Smallville ranked #1 from 8-10pm in men 18-49.”

Erica Durance Talks “Absolute Justice”, “Lois Lane” And More At TV.com
Posted by Nessa • 2 Comments »

Erica Durance (Lois Lane) chatted with “TV.com” about “Clois”, “Absolute Justice” and more recently – read a snippet below of Erica discussing Lois’ role in “Absolute Justice”:

The Justice Society of America is coming to Smallville, so to speak. What will be your role in this two-hour special?
Durance:
You will see Lois running a parallel story with Clark. Clark has a first-hand meeting with these individuals. Lois goes off on her own to investigate, and finds herself introduced to Dr. Fate. She has a run-in with him, and he gives her interesting insight into her future.

MTV: Geoff Johns Interview!
Posted by Nessa • 2 Comments »

Geoff Johns talks “Absolute Justice” easter eggs, character decisions and costume changes in his latest interview with MTV.

In the snippet below, Johns discusses the approach he took writing the DC characters for Smallville:

MTV: You’re in a great place to really understand the difference between the universe of “Smallville” and the comics side of the DC Universe. Does it require a different approach to wrap your head around the characters in “Smallville” and their motivations and those of their comic book counterparts? How do you shift gears when you’re going back and forth between them?

JOHNS: Ironically, in this case, Hawkman is Hawkman, and Star Girl is Star Girl… and Dr. Fate’s slightly different, but you’ll see what I mean by that when you see it. He’s slightly different from the Dr. Fate you know in the comics, but they’re the same characters.

Writing Green Arrow [in "Smallville"] to me was just like writing Green Arrow in the comic books, though I haven’t done it much. He’s just a little younger, and more inexperienced. And the same goes for Clark Kent and Lois Lane. It wasn’t that different. Although “Smallvill” has strayed from the mythology and kind of done its own completely new spin in the past, throughout the last two seasons it’s gotten more and more in line with the comic book mythology and the characters. To be honest, the only difference for me was budget and time.

Read Johns’ entire interview at “MTV” here.
