Latest From Ausiello: Smallville/JS Movie Takes Flight!
Posted by Nessa • 4 Comments »

JSAFREAKIN’ AWESOME! Now I’m really excited! This is the first time in nine years that Smallville will have a two-hour television movie event.

Ausiello has more Smallville news to share later today. Read below:

I’ve got some big news for all my Super friends out there.

I’m hearing The CW has decided to package Smallville’s upcoming (and highly-anticipated) Justice Society-themed two-parter into a two-hour movie event airing on Jan. 29.

The Geoff Johns-penned episodes — titled “Society” and “Legends” and featuring such DC Comics stalwarts as Stargirl, Hawkman, and Dr. Fate — were originally designed to air separately. But, according to Smallville insiders, CW execs felt they could get more mileage out of combining them.

I tend do agree. Do you? Sound off in the comments!

Oh, and if you thought this scoop was super, just wait. There’s another (even bigger) Smallville-related treat coming your way later today.

Friday’s No Kryptonite For Smallville
Posted by Nessa • No Comments »

TV By The Numbers created a “Renew/Cancel Index”, which “predicts” potential renewal or cancellation for scripted broadcast primetime shows for the 2010-11 season (results through November 8, 2009) – interesting stuff.

Read a snippet of the article below:

For most broadcast shows, exile to Friday means your network thinks the show is past its time, and should peacefully fade away without damaging the ratings of shows on Sunday-Thursday. That’s likely the idea that the CW had when it put Smallville on Fridays this season. But defying conventional wisdom (and to many fans, the wishes of CW chief Dawn Ostroff), not only has Smallville refused to go quietly, it was tied for second best adults 18-49 rating on the CW last week. I know that the CW targets women 18-34, but be certain they sell advertising based on whatever attractive demo ratings they get. Those results cannot be ignored.

Read the article in it’s entirety and check-out the “Renew/Cancel Index” chart at TV By The Numbers here.

The Big Tease Scoop: “Chlollie” & “Martian Manhunter”

20091110 Chlollie Martian Manhunter-s

The latest scoop from Matt Mitovich with Fancast.  Looking forward to Martian Manhunter’s return! Check it out:

Nice interview with ‘Smallville’s’ Justin Hartley! But man, no Chlollie? I was hoping for that. – LJ
To be fair, Justin didn’t completely rule out an Ollie-Chloe romance; he simply said nothing was on the books yet. In full, he told me he finds it “much more interesting for Oliver to have a relationship with a female that’s platonic. That doesn’t happen to him. Or, I’d like to see him stumble on [new romance] and not know how to handle that.” As for what if anything the writers decide to do with “Chlollie,” he said, “It will be good. I have total faith in them.”

The ‘Smallville’ executive producers have confirmed that Martian Manhunter (Phil Morris) is returning this season. When, and for how many episodes? – Graham
Those who are J’onzzing for the big guy’s return will want to make extra sure that they catch the Justice Society-centric two-parter airing in January. “The other MM” (as I call him) will resurface in “Society,” but really make his presence known in the “Legend” half.

Titles Revealed For Smallville Episodes 13 & 14
Posted by Nessa • No Comments »

KryptonSite has revealed the titles for episodes 13 & 14:

9.13 “Hubris”

  • This is the episode that was formerly known as “Persuasion”.
  • It was originally assumed that the episode filming after “Legends” would be directed by Allison Mack, as revealed by the Vancouver production list. Either there has been a change in episode order or the Vancouver production list was incorrect.

9.14 “Conspiracy”
