Crap, now I won’t have any excuse not to watch that series.
Too many shows, not enough time, but it’ll be nice to see her in something slightly different.

Hey The Brain,

I had to laugh because I totally agree. We have so many shows we watch also, and this will be another one to add, but I have to admit I’ve never watched a “web series” before. The ep’s are only 10-minutes or less, which is interesting. But I definitely will now since Allison has been cast! :)

I don’t know… this worries me. They have been cutting down on Chloe’s character a lot this season and now she’s going to take part in a web series? That just makes me think that she still doesn’t have much to do in upcoming Smallville episodes, so Allison has time to do other things. I know that web series are only like an hour long in total for their season, with each episode being only a few minutes, so she wouldn’t be away filming that for long, but still. Just shows she has the time.

Although, I guess it might not even be filmed during Smallville time, it might be filmed in the summer. The other actors have filmed movies and such during the summer, like Erica did this year. I don’t know, I’m just worried about Chloe and them writing her out of the series so they can match up with their stupid “Superman mythos.” Not that I think the mythos is stupid, I just mean that the writers need to realize and admit that this is an alternate universe of Superman and that they shouldn’t have to make everything match with what happens later in Superman mythology. I really want Chloe to be a part of the show to the end, so I hope they keep Allison Mack on and I hope she stays.

Hey Nerf,

Allison/Chloe is definitely “one of my favorites” (Tom/Clark being first, of course) on the show, so I’d like to see her finish with the series as well. I do recall Allison mentioning that she was only signed on until the end of season nine, so I’m wondering if she will be on the show, if the series continues to season 10. I’m really hoping the show goes on for another season (or two), and that Chloe will still be a part of the show. She adds so much to the story – I can’t imagine her character being written off.

I guess we’ll know more next year close to the season/series finale – hopefully much sooner than that.

Also, I’ll have to look at past spoilers/interviews, but I remember reading something about Chloe having more screen time this season in future ep’s. I could be wrong, but now I’ll have to do some digging to make sure.

Nessa,

I was mostly worried earlier this year, when they were using Dr. Emil for all the techno-babble. Like they were starting to use him as replacement for Chloe.

I also heard that she was only contracted for season nine as well, but hopefully she’ll sign on for another year if we get a S10. I’m assuming they came up with the whole Chloe dying in the future thing as a way to possibly write her out if Allison decides not to return. I hope that doesn’t end up being the case.

And yes, they did say Chloe would “play a big part” in the story of the second half of this season, but nothing about more screen time. So hopefully she does get more screen time and isn’t just playing a big role overall and offscreen, if that makes sense.

As for this “Riese” thing, it doesn’t bother me now, as I just saw that picture you posted, which must mean she’s filming it now, while Smallville is still on winter break. At least, I assume they are. Or do they start working again right after Thanksgiving, then break again for Christmas time? Hmm. Well, whatever.

Nessa

Hey Nerf,

I believe you are right about Allison filming “Riese” right now. On the “RieseTheSeries” twitter page, they do seem to indicate that they are presently filming the show.

Oh, thanks for digging that up. Yeah, you’re right, I guess it doesn’t necessarily mean more “screen time”. Chloe’s presence…or should I say lack of, is definitely noticeable this season. You know, Allison/Chloe is such a fan favorite, I don’t see why the writers would kill her off, unless, like you mentioned, they are trying to align with the whole “Superman mythos” (e.g., Henry James Olsen).

As far as Dr. Hamilton…I’m curious if he’s a good guy, or a villain. From what I read earlier about him on Wikipedia, the DC character is sometimes portrayed as a villain.
