Hundreds of Smallville fans attended a retrospective documentary on Saturday, October 15th at New York Comic Con. According to “IGN,” the documentary covered the most powerful moments and interviews from the cast and crew, where they fondly recall some of their favorites moments from the show’s 10 year run.

Read a snippet below:

The 100-minute documentary is broken down by season, with each segment running roughly 10 minutes, largely detailing the overarching narrative. While most of the material is fairly superfluous, it’s hard not to get caught up in nostalgia for the series. Smallville remains one of the sharpest pieces of comic book entertainment to ever hit the small screen.

It’s great to learn that Clark Kent acts stiff and stoic throughout the series because star Tom Welling was scared those first few episodes and developed his character around his fear of being on camera. The documentary also pays respect to 9/11, and the vast impact it had on the series. In a time when the world was seeking a hero, Smallville contributed what it could, and gave an outlet to those who sought it.

Smallville: The Complete Series will be available on DVD on November 29th.

TVShowsOnDVD announced this afternoon that the 2006 pilot, “Aquaman,” which was produced by the Smallville creators, Miles Millar and Alfred Gough, and starred Justin Hartley portraying the title role, will be included in the Smallville: The Complete Series DVD set, which will be out later this Fall.

In regards to the complete series NOT being released on Blu-ray disc, here is Warner Home Video’s official statement:

“At this time, Warner Home Video does not have plans to release SMALLVILLE: THE COMPLETE SERIES on Blu-ray due to technical issues present in the first seasons. These differences include standard definition technical aspects, most notably within special effects, that do not format suitably to Blu-ray 1080p standards. These episodes are available for download in 720p high definition.”
