What an amazing episode last night! I watched it twice already. Well technically three times while I worked on the “Persuasion” quotes, which is now posted in the season nine quote section here.

* * Update: Ratings for Persuasion are now up at “TVbytheNumbers”. Smallville scored 2.42 million viewers last night – see it here. Matt with Fancast tweeted earlier this morning that it closed the hour with a 2.5 million viewers, which went up a bit!

I also added a new poll on the left sidebar which is titled “Who is you’re favorite Tom Welling Character On Smallville?”. I’ve enjoyed Tom’s portrayal of all five characters (and more), but my favorite is mild-mannered “Clark Kent”.

I really enjoyed “Disciple” this past Friday, primarily the Clark (Tom Welling) and Zod (Callum Blue) scenes (below).

We received disturbing comments from readers that were disappointed that Smallville’s return was re-scheduled for next week. I have to confess, we were also disappointed, and I think it’s fair to say we are all die hard fans and look forward to experiencing the weekly escape of “Smallville Universe.” Because that’s what it is, it’s a universe that takes us away from our own; even if only for an hour. But let’s not forget that there is a country that suffered a terrible tragedy.

We, the staff at Smallville Buzz, love the show and started this website to connect with other Smallville fans because it’s fun and exciting and we enjoy reading everybody’s input and thoughts on the show mostly because more times than not we agree. We would like to post them all as they are sent to us but due to the nature of the show we have to assume some of our readers are of a particular age group and we would appreciate everybody keeping their comments respectful. We do not want to have to alter anybody’s comments to make it agreeable for our readers because then it ruins the integrity of the writer’s comment.

Also, Smallville Buzz is not a political forum and while we may agree or disagree with what may have been sent to us, again, we would appreciate not only respect toward other readers who may be affected by the political statement or callus remark toward the tragedy that may have postponed the show, but perspective and restraint before sending through any comments of that nature.

Here are the final “Villain Poll Results”, with “Lex Luthor” leading the votes at 51%, “Other” with 14%, and “Bizarro” at 10%. It’s too bad I didn’t think to add an extra box so voters could add their choice of villain for “Other” – bummer.

I added “Characters” poll on Tuesday to the left sidebar to choose a Smallville character “that is still living” that you would like to see return to the show. Well as we all now know, both Martha Kent (Annette O’Toole) and Perry White (Michael McKean) are returning to the show, so I’m thinking about deleting them from my list now that it’s confirmed we’ll be seeing them both this season.

I should also mention that a few of the results being submitted under “other” are for “Lionel Luthor” (John Glover), but Lionel was killed in season seven, so unfortunately he cannot be included.

I’ll have the final results for the “Characters” poll next Tuesday (Jan 26), and thanks again for casting your votes!
