Geoff Johns definitely made his round of interviews – busy guy!

“Comic Book Resources” caught up with Johns to chat about how he brought his considerable knowledge of the Justice Society of America to bear in the form of co-starring heroes Hawkman, Stargirl and Doctor Fate.

I love the way they keep referring to Clark as Superman in these interviews. I wonder if Martian Manhunter will get his powers back in this special Smallville movie. He’s so cool when he’s supercharged.

Hey Monita!

I’m so glad you brought up MM – we were just talking about that very possibility of him getting his abilities back in tonight’s Smallville event! Pleeease let it happen!

I wish the Smallville Writers would write bigger story-arcs for MM (Phil Morris). He really is one of my favorites, and I love the way both him and Clark interact with one another. *SQUEEE* Just 3 1/2 hours to go here on the West Coast! :D

Gary

About 20 minutes into this episode, and I’m geeking out!!!! It’s almost too much.

Nessa

I’m envious…wish we were watching it too. Still have a looong one hour wait.

Gary

These was everything I expected it to be & more. Geoff Johns is a genius!!!! Can’t wait until this comes out on DVD & see what they cut out of this.

Nessa

Awesome! I’m glad to read that you really enjoyed it…yaay! I wonder how it will do in the ratings tonight.

Okay, I best get off the computer until after it airs here on the West Coast in just over 30-minutes from now. I’m don’t want to accidentally read any spoilers online until I see it! *squee* Can’t wait! ;)

The episode was simply amazing, a pure geek fest. I had to watch it a second time because of all the lines I missed whilst I was screaming, each time we were thrown an “Easter egg” (Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E, the one-liners between Ollie and Hawkman, the mention of “Suicide Squad at the end almost brought tears lol)

Nessa

Hey “The Brain” & “Gary”,

It was EXCELLENT! We watched it a second time this morning too and loved it even more! I did have to look-up certain references though, such as the Suicide Squad to become familiar with that group.

Part one of AJ was directed by Glen Winter, who did an amazing job. Tom Welling directed and starred in the second part of AJ, and is the co-executive producer for the show. He did an excellent job – he just continues to blow me away!

There were so many scenes I loved, but a few that stand out in my mind:

—-Dr. Fate sees a glimpse of Clark’s destiny with the red cape!
—-Clark at the museum viewing all the JSA’s history
—-Dr. Fate tells Clark about his fate with Lex in the future.
—-Martian Manhunter zapped by Dr. Fate and we quickly see his true form! Loved it!
—-The Oliver and Hawkman dialogue – hilarious!
—-The battle at Watchtower fighting Icicle. Whoa, that was awesome!
—-Carter Hall mentoring Clark: “You will soar higher than any of us.”
—-John Jones’ pep talk with Chloe at Watchtower.
—-Lois revealing to Clark what Dr. Fate told her about her destiny with the savior.
—-The Tess reveal at the end with Amanda Waller!

That’s just to name a few, mind you LOL. I hope this isn’t the last we see of Carter Hall and the JSA!
