TV Guide: Smallville Burning Questions – “Absolute Justice”
Posted by Nessa • No Comments »

Damian Holbrook with “TV Guide” answers some “Absolute Justice” burning questions. Here’s a couple of those to get you started:

Who is front-and-center? Peterson’s fellow exec-producer Kelly Souders says that it’s a “heavy” Chloe-Clark episode, but that we’ll see a lot of Oliver as well. “I think it puts all of our JLA members to the task.”

Did directing part 2 limit Tom Welling’s screen time? Apparently not, confirms Hartley. “I think he has more in the second hour than he has in the first. But don’t worry, when he’s not there, I’m there for you!”

Excellent interview – read it in it’s entirety at “TV Guide” here.

Geoff Johns Talks “Absolute Justice” With IGN
Posted by Nessa • No Comments »

Geoff Johns talked Smallville’s two-hour event, Absolute Justice with Jenna Busch for “IGN” – lucky gal.

Here’s a snippet of Johns’ discussion in regards to writing Smallville’s version of Lois Lane (Erica Durance):

IGN: I know you’ve said a couple of time that you really wanted to write for Smallville’s version of Lois Lane (Erica Durance). What’s that been like? What are the things you really like about her?
Johns:
I just love the character of Lois Lane. I love writing her. She was actually my favorite character to write in Superman: Secret Origin, and I just think Erica embodies her so perfectly. Last season when I did “Legion,” I didn’t get a chance to write Smallville’s Lois Lane. So I was very anxious and excited to have a chance to do it this year. And she killed it. She always does.

Brent Stait Talks “Dr. Fate”
Posted by Nessa • No Comments »

Brent Stait talks “Absolute Justice” and Dr. Fate with Jim Beard with “Sherman Scoops Sin City”. Read a snippet of Brent chatting about working with the Smallville cast:

JIM: Conversely, what was it like coming into the SMALLVILLE universe and working with its well-seasoned cast and crew?
BRENT:
Well, they were great. Really. They’ve been together for a long time and they’re a well-oiled machine. They’re really easy to work with and very generous. Tom [Welling], as an actor and a director – he directed the second half – he’s really good as both. He talks to you like what he’s thinking as an actor. He talks to you about things that actors talk about, not just the shots and stuff like that. He takes time and talks about character and motivation in this scene and objectives and things like that.

JIM: And you think that all comes from Tom also being an actor?
BRENT:
Yeah, ‘cause he kind of grew up on the set, right? I think you kind of learn about cameras and angles and lighting, you can learn about that technically, but you can’t really be taught how to work with actors, you have to experience that. And that definitely, I think, comes out of his experience, because I think he’s very relaxed and chilled out on set. He doesn’t freak out or go into shock (laughs) or any of that. He’s an old seasoned pro as a director, as far as I was concerned. Very easy to work with. He lets you try things, like let your actors do their acting, which is very important I think. It was great.

Great interview – read it in it’s entirety here.
