Oliver Queen: “I feel like there’s a punch line to that question.”

Lois Lane: “You disappear for a month and come back with a sense of humor?”
Clark Kent: “I’ve been tracking Chloe down. The question is, how did you get here?”
Lois Lane: “Feminine charm.”
Clark Kent: “Huh.”
Lois Lane: “Yes, I do have some.”
Clark Kent: “Great job of protecting your short supply of it.”
Lois Lane: “Why don’t you give your stand-up a rest and do exactly what I tell you? That way we can find Chloe and stay alive at the same time.”

Clark Kent: “I’ve written eulogies. I’ve seen people walk away from me, but I’ve never really said goodbye. I’ve been holding on to a life on this farm that hasn’t existed for years.”
Martian Manhunter: “So what are you going to do?”

Chloe Sullivan: “Although, as much as I love the one-on-one time, I gotta say I’m actually surprised Lois unattached you from her hip.”
Clark Kent: “What do you mean? Lois and I aren’t always together.”
Chloe Sullivan: ” Clark, you see her more than I see Jimmy, and we’re engaged.”
Clark Kent: ” What are you trying to say?”
Chloe Sullivan: ” Never mind.”

Oliver Queen: “You may be invincible, but you are not fearless, are you? You’re afraid to trust your friends, and you’re afraid to face who you’re really meant to be. You’re afraid of everything. Maybe you haven’t been put to the test yet. Maybe your island’s still out there, Clark.”

8.04 Instinct

Lois Lane: “You’re about as predictable as Mullets at Nascar. One little mention of you living alone and you start singing the missing Lana blues. Now I hate to be the one to dish out a helping of tough love here Clark, but Lana is gone for good. Time to get back in the saddle, Buckaroo. But this go round you need to look outside your wheel house.”
Clark Kent: “I didn’t know I had a wheel house.”
Lois Lane: “Of course you do. Pretty, friendly, damsel-in-distressy. You need to try another scoop of the 31-flavors, maybe a little less sweet vanilla, and a lot more wild cherry.”

Clark Kent: “How does a healthy 25-year old suddenly die of a heart attack?”
Lois Lane: “I don’t have time to hand hold, but the coroner’s report said that the endorphin and adrenaline levels in his blood were sky high. You know endorphins? They’re hormones that are released when the body performs a certain activity.”
Clark Kent: “Like when you play a sport.”
Lois Lane: “Or theres another kind of sport that two people share…repetitive motion…builds to a climax.” [teasing]
Clark Kent: ” Thank you.” [sarcastic]

Chloe Sullivan: “I guess we sort of skated over the conversation about boundaries.”
Jimmy Olsen: “Looks like I stumbled over the razor wire surrounding the Clark issue again. I knew he was your first love…I never knew you felt like this.”
Chloe Sullivan: “It’s ancient history. I wrote that when I was fifteen. I’ve told you before. Clark is my best friend and that’s all.”
Jimmy Olsen: [reading letter] “I’m the girl of your dreams masquerading as your best friend. You realize I’m living my biggest nightmare right now.”

Chloe Sullivan: “Hey, am I glad to see you. Now that Lois is riding shotgun in your mystery machine your old sidekick is jonesing for a scooby clue. Let me see that concrete circle.”
Clark Kent: “I know it’s not Kryptonian.”
Chloe Sullivan: “This is a hypogeus marker. It’s the royal crest from the planet called Almerac, this belongs to their Queen.”
Clark Kent: “A planet called Almerac? Chloe I didn’t realize your Brainiac download included some sort of intergalactic encyclopedia.
Chloe Sullivan: “Were there fresh burn marks in the area?”
Clark Kent: “Yeah.”
Chloe Sullivan: “Then she must of teleported in recently. They use an ucrillian bracelet that acts as a hyperdrive compressing the fabrics of time and space…[Chloe sees Clark looking at her worried] You said the chemicals in her victims were elevated?”
Clark Kent: “Endorphins and adrenaline. All the men died the same way.”
Chloe Sullivan: “She’s searching for a mate. Those chemicals must be released into her victims once she locks lips with them. She’s won the battle of the sexes on her planet and she’s now looking for a new contender. If she can find someone to survive her killer kiss…then she can live happily ever after.”

Clark Kent: “Lois! Lois wait!”
Lois Lane: “What?! Oh, sorry to rain on your orgy Smallville, I think I scared off your date.”
Clark Kent: “Where did she go?”
Lois Lane: “Probably to find you two a motel room.”
Clark Kent: “You don’t understand.”
Lois Lane: “What’s not to understand? You were pulling a 9 1/2 weeks in the elevator, I mean it may not get you a membership in the mile-high club, but hey, you gotta start somewhere.”
Clark Kent: “Just calm down.”
Lois Lane: “I am calm! I am perfectly calm! Why wouldn’t I be calm! Dial down the ego Smallville, I don’t care what you do with your love life!”

Maxima: “I couldn’t kill you in front of him, but now that your alone I’ll make sure you never take him away.”
Lois Lane: “Who, Smallville? Look, I don’t know who or what you are, but you got it all wrong lady. There is nothing romantic between Lois and Clark.”
Maxima: “You have a deep connection to him, I felt it.”
Lois Lane: “Then your radar is on the fritz. ‘Cause even on a good day, we’re barely friends.”
Maxima: “He would never have been able to pull away from me if he wasn’t drawn by his attraction to you.”
Lois Lane: “Look, he’s about as attracted to me as a Red Sox fan to the Yankees.”
Maxima: “Well he may not know it yet. But believe me theres a bond. And I could see it on your face when you caught us together, you feel it too. But I finally found the man I wanted all my life and you can’t have him!”

Lois Lane: “Tell me about it. If I hadn’t severed your love connection, you would have ended up like all her other dates.”

Lois Lane: “I-I think you can do a little bit better than a man eating meteor-freak.”
Clark Kent: “I know she’s not the one but…It got me to thinking. Chloe showed me this love letter she wrote to me years ago…and…her feelings were really intense. And Chloe was right there in front of me and I never realized how she felt. What if my soul-mate comes along and I’m too blind to see it.”
Lois Lane: “I don’t know Smallville. I think…that when the right girl walks into your life, you’ll know it.”
Clark Kent: “What did Maxima say to you?”
Lois Lane: “Nothing for the front page.”

8.05 Committed

Lois Lane: “A smile every now and then wouldn’t kill you.”
Clark Kent: “In short supply Lois. I wouldn’t wanna waste one.”
Jeweler: “Can I help you?”
Lois Lane: “Well, we are finally out ring shopping. Who’s the luckiest girl in the world? I am.”
Clark Kent: “Some friends of ours said your store is the best place in town to find engagement rings.”
Jeweler: “Is there a certain piece you’d like to see?”
Lois Lane: “Well…what about this one pumpkin?”
Clark Kent: “Anything you want muffin. It must be great seeing happy couples come through here everyday.”
Jeweler: “It certainly is. It’s very fulfulling helping to solidify the bond between husband and wife.”
[Jeweler hands Clark a ring from the case]
Jeweler: “Excellent craftsmanship. A perfect circle, no beginning and no end. Try it on. See how it looks.”
[Lois holds out her hand for Clark as he continues to stare at the ring in his hand]
Lois Lane: “Don’t get stage fright poodle. You’re gonna have to do the center stage in front of a packed house sooner than you think. He has performance anxiety.”
[Jeweler chuckles. Clark shoves the ring on Lois' finger]
Jeweler: “Look at that. A perfect fit.”
[Oliver walks in the store, looks around and sees Clark and Lois, who both exchange a surprised look]
Oliver Queen: “What are you two doing here?”
Lois Lane: “Oliver, uh…didn’t you get the invitation yet?”
Oliver Queen: “Invitation to what?”
Lois Lane: “Tell him cupcake.”
Clark Kent: “Lois and I are…we’re getting married.”
[Oliver laughs. Lois holds up her ring finger for Oliver to see]
Oliver Queen: “You’re just full of surprises lately aren’t you, Clark?”
Lois Lane: “I know, right? I mean, we’ve been friends for so long, but we just had this, um, one magical night. And we couldn’t deny our feelings any longer.”
Oliver Queen: [baffled, looks to Clark] “Is this true?”
Clark Kent: “I’m afraid so.”
Lois Lane: [Lois pulls Clarks hand to leave and hands the ring back to the Jeweler] “See you at the wedding.”
[Clark & Lois depart the store with Oliver staring after them, shocked]

Lois Lane: “Okay crazy, this is the deal. We’re not even really a couple so this twisted test doesn’t mean anything.”
Jeweler: “Next question. Deep down, underneath it all, do you love this man?”
Clark Kent: [exhausted from electrocution] “Answer the question, Lois. Don’t outthink it. Just tell the truth.”
Jeweler: [sighs] “Do you love him?”
Clark Kent: “Tell the truth.”
Jeweler: ” Do you love him?”
Lois Lane: [sobbing] “Yes.”

Lois Lane: “He confessed. The Jeweler.”
Clark Kent: “I heard. Five couples?”
Lois Lane: [sighs] “So uh, about that test…um”
Clark Kent: “Who would of thought you were such a good liar, huh? I mean, you even beat that machine.”
Lois Lane: “Even though I’m a natural master of deception, I needed a little help. I mean, that machine was a piece of kaiser-era junk.”
Clark Kent: [chuckles] “I mean, it did work the first time, you know, when you electrocuted me.”
Lois Lane: “Exactly. So while he was off playing game-show host, I slipped the sensor off my finger. [Clark looking surprised] Pretty crafty huh?”
Clark Kent: “So you weren’t telling the truth?”
Lois Lane: “Please, I mean, we do make a good team. But don’t let our cover go to that big old head of yours.”
Clark Kent: [scoffs] “I didn’t.”
Lois Lane: “Good.”
Clark Kent: “Great.”
[elevator bell rings, door opens and Lois steps out]
Lois Lane: “Let’s just be happy that I was under the gun and not you.”
Clark Kent: “And why is that?”
Lois Lane: “Smallville, everyone knows you’re a terrible liar. Who knows where we’d be if you answered that question.”

8.06 Prey

Davis Bloome: “Why don’t you take a second look at those photos. I’m not the only one hanging around at these crime scenes, there’s a second figure in the background. You seem to be the City’s own peeping-tom.”
Clark Kent: “I’m a reporter, it’s my job.”
Davis Bloome: “These photos were taken before any press could have made it to the crime scene.”

Chloe Sullivan: “I can be a little stubborn.”
Clark Kent: “And I hate to admit it, there was a part of me that was really frustrated that you trusted someone else instead of me.”

Oliver Queen: “When I was zipping across the street taking that punk down…I felt like myself again, you know. Because that’s who I am. Not the party boy who runs off on his lost rum-soaked weekends. I’m not the multi-national corporate titan, that’s not me. Underneath it all the person I am is Green Arrow.”

Lois Lane: “A little thing called a date. I know you’re fresh off the farm, but sometimes, when a guy likes a girl, he asks her out.”
Clark Kent: “I know what a date is. So who’s the unlucky guy?”

Clark Kent: “Oliver, I have no doubt that your parents would be proud of the person you’ve become. Except for one thing, and it’s just a piece of friendly advice. Don’t even wear that cape again… It looked ridiculous.”
Oliver Queen: “Really? I kind of liked it. Sure helped with the aerodynamics. You should give it a try.”
Clark Kent: [chuckling] “Not in this lifetime.”

Oliver Queen: “Phantom Zone, huh? Seriously, who names these things?”
Chloe Sullivan: “Picture an alien Alcatraz, and if I don’t bail Clark out soon, who knows that kind of havoc Lo-Bot will leave in her wake.”

Jor-El: “I programmed the Fortress to remove your powers and self-destruct if you became a danger to the planet.”
Clark Kent: “When you sent me here, you had no way of knowing how I would use my abilities. You trusted me. When I betrayed that trust, you were willing to sacrifice your only son to save this planet. But now I know what it truly means to protect people, not just my family and friends.”
Jor-El: “You’ve made great progress, my son.”
Clark Kent: “One thing needs to change. You call me your son. You treat me like your enemy. I think it’s time you stopped punishing me, and start trusting me again.”

Oliver Queen: “Lex deserved to die Chloe.”
Chloe Sullivan: “You certainly made sure he got what he deserved. They identified the remains as Lex’s.”
Oliver Queen: “And what does Clark think?”
Chloe Sullivan: “That Winslow turned on Lex. Pieces of a toy bomb were found in the wreckage.
Oliver Queen: ” Yeah, that makes sense. Wouldn’t be like Winslow to play a game he can’t win.”
Chloe Sullivan: “Are you seriously going to let another man take the blame for something you did?”
Oliver Queen: “Chloe, Winslow is already a killer. He blew up all these people at LuthorCorp, he was about ready to take down the entire Daily Planet. One more death is not going to make a difference.”
Chloe Sullivan: “Are you listening to yourself? Oliver, you’ve really crossed the line here.”
Oliver Queen: “Lex is dead. The world is safer because of it. Clark is safe again.”
Chloe Sullivan: “This is murder.”
Oliver Queen: “This is justice, although Clark may not be able to accept that. You know what I did was right. And please don’t stand there and look so innocent. You know, I did a little video viewing of my own. It seems a certain meteor freak named Sebastian Kane died at the hospital right when he was visited by someone who looked an awful lot like you.”
Chloe Sullivan: “That was Brainiac, not me.”
Oliver Queen: “Was it? Because it seemed like a pretty natural instinct to protect Clark. Now that Lex is gone, you can’t tell me your not relieved.”
Chloe Sullivan: “Every fiber of my conscience wants to say it’s not true, but…”
Oliver Queen: “Then, you can’t tell Clark what I did. Lex just ripped a man’s heart out Chloe. He’s going to need his friends right now more than ever.”

Lana Lang: “No.” [crying] [Clark starts walking towards Lana]

[Clark, struggling to stay standing as he holds Lana's shoulders and stares into her eyes and kisses her, his face getting distorted, finally falling over to the ground]
Lana Lang: “Goodbye Clark.” [crying, walking away from Clark. As Lana reaches the stairs, she turns to face Clark]
Lana Lang: “That night at the cemetery when I introduced you to my mom and dad, you told me that I would never be alone. That my mom would always be watching over me. If were in eachother’s hearts Clark, I will always be with you, no matter what. I love you.” [Lana departs]
Clark Kent: [whisper] “I love you”

8.15 Infamous

Clark Kent: “Lois, I have a ring that allows me to go to any moment in time. I’m going to go back to before Linda Lake ever wrote that article. The world isn’t ready to accept someone like me.”
Lois Lane: “Then stay and fight back. Look give people a chance to see who you really are.
Clark Kent: “It’s too late Lois. My life I’ve seen different.
Lois Lane: “Some people spend there entire lives looking for a way to stand out. To be a person that anybody would call special. When you first told me who you were…my thought was anyone but Clark. And not because the alien thing…I have known enough guys to know that you can born on Terra Firma and be light years from normal.
Clark Kent: “Lois, you don’t have to explain…I get it.”
Lois Lane: “No, you don’t. How can someone with x-ray vision be so blind. I have been down the hero road before, and everytime I made a giant u-turn. But this…this was different.”
Clark Kent: “And this time it will be different Lois. When I do this no one is going to remember who I am.”
Lois Lane: “And when you hit your reset button…you’re not going to tell me your secret, are you?”
Clark Kent: “I’m sorry.”
Lois Lane: “It’s okay. Why should I think I’m special. Clark…I understand.”
Clark Kent: “Lois, you don’t understand. It’s because you are special. I have to go.”

Chloe Sullivan: “Yeah…and for the cherry on top you get to tell Lois the truth and still know her reaction.”
Clark Kent: “All this made one thing very clear Chloe. Lois can never know who I really am.”

Chloe Sullivan: [on the cell-phone] “Look, everything I’ve ever done, right or wrong, I did for you.”
Clark Kent: “By running away? Admit it Chloe, you have feelings for Davis, that’s why you’re protecting him.”
Chloe Sullivan: “I’m protecting you! I meant what I said. Condemning Davis to a life as that monster is worse than killing him.”
Clark Kent: “But what about you, Chloe? Chloe, I’m gonna spend every second looking for you, I will find a way to save you!”
