The CW president, Dawn Ostroff spoke with “The Hollywood Reporter” about the network’s shows and briefly touched on Smallville’s stay on Friday nights:

THR: What about one of your other genre shows, “Smallville,” will it stay on Fridays?
Ostroff:
“Smallville” has had a great year creatively and moving to Friday nights; viewers have not only followed it but have endorsed the show creatively. I think it’s too early too tell [where it will go], but it’s been doing well on Fridays.

What would be more ideal in my opinion is to pair “Smallville” back with “Supernatural” on Thursday nights, but given Ostroff’s statement above, it seems more likely they will keep Smallville right where it is.

I’m happy with it on Friday nights and I hope it doesn’t move. I especially hope it doesn’t move back to Thursday nights. I always have a prior commitment that night and, as I don’t have a DVR, I don’t have a good way to record the show. Friday nights work well for me. Plus, I love the promo line they have been having. “Fridays Are Legendary.” :)

Hey Ian,

I remember you mentioning this before.

For me, I really prefer Thursday nights, and I can’t stress how much I want Smallville paired back with Supernatural – both shows fit nicely together. But unfortunately you will very likely get your wish. :(

I have to admit that I do like the “Fridays Are Legendary” slogan this season…but I’m sure they can come up with a really cool one for Thursdays too, LOL! ;)

I’m thinking they will pair Smallville with Supernatural on Fridays this fall and then put one of their new series alongside The Vampire Diaries; like Be-twixt, or Nikita.

Hey Ian,

That would totally make sense since this might very well be the last season for both Smallville and Supernatural. I’m sure the network would want to pair their number one “rated” show (TVD) with a new series to help bring in ratings for it.

Nice Ian! Guess we’ll find out soon! ;)

Personally I would really love to see Smallville back to it’s original schedule ‘Thursday Nights”, then ‘Super Natural’, another amazing show. Since they have been moved to Friday night, I believe the ratings have dropped because people go out, after all it is TGIF!

Hey Toni,

If Smallville stays on Friday nights, I hope the network will move Supernatural on the same night. I agree though…Fridays is just not a good night – for a ratings standpoint.
